I’m excited to share that Seminary Now is launching a new video course based on my book Tell Her Story, which explores the lives and leadership of women in the early church. The course is titled Women Leaders in the Early Church. This course is designed to help pastors, students, and church leaders rediscover the often-overlooked women who helped shape the New Testament story.
Join the Launch Team
We’re putting together a team of people who care about supporting women in ministry and want to help get the word out. It’s super simple: launch team members agree to share about the course at least twice—on social media or through a blog/podcast—leading up to the launch on May 14th (2025), and on launch day. That’s it! We made it an easy “yes.”
Perks!
As a thank-you, launch team members will get
free access to the first three sessions of the course.
I (Nijay) will also plan a special private Zoom session sharing new research from my follow up to Tell Her Story, tentatively called God Spoke through Her: Female Prophets as God’s Spokespersons in Scripture (IVP). I incorporate a little bit of this material into the course, but I am happy to give launch team members a private sneak peek of more from the book manuscript I am working on!
And if you write a quick review after watching, Seminary Now will give you a free one-year subscription to the entire library of 90+ courses.

Why This Matters
So many of us have been shaped by Scripture, and it’s time more people saw just how central women were to God’s story from the very beginning. I’d love your help in sharing this message and helping others engage with these stories in a fresh way.

When we tell the story of Christianity, whose voices get left out?
In this course, Dr. Nijay Gupta delves into the often-overlooked stories of women leaders in the early church. As you explore the historical context of women's roles in Scripture and its ancient context, you'll gain fresh perspectives on familiar biblical texts, discover the significant contributions of women like Deborah, Phoebe, Prisca, and Junia, and engage with important discussions about the roles of women in leadership.
The course also addresses challenging passages that seem to limit women's participation in leadership, offering a fresh perspective on these texts. Whether you're a student, scholar, or simply someone curious about the Bible, this course will deepen your knowledge and appreciation of the diverse individuals who shaped early Christianity.
Reminder: This course publicly releases May 14, 2025
