Big News for Northern Seminary: Collaboration with The Bible Project
We here at Northern Seminary are big fans of The Bible Project, with Tim Mackie and his crew. Also, we have some unique interconnectivity: two full-time scholars at the Bible Project are Northern students—Ben Tertin (alum, DMIN) and Renjy Abraham (current DMIN). And we have more students who are working in other areas of the organization.
Over the summer, we have been working on a special relationship between Northern Seminary and The Bible Project. The Bible Project has a wonderful set of educational courses (15-20 hours of instruction per course) on various biblical texts or topics. We have made an arrangement where you can take some free courses through The Bible Project and get credit towards a Northern Seminary certificate or Master’s degree.
In the Press Release, I made this statement:
“I have long appreciated the Bible Project for teaching about issues of faith and pointing to Jesus in creative, inspiring, and faithful ways. It is exciting to imagine a believer start their learning journey with short BibleProject videos, take a BibleProject course, and eventually use that to earn a degree.”

Currently, The Bible Project has 11 courses, from leading biblical scholars including Carmen Imes, Lucy Peppiatt, and Tim Mackie. And many more are planned for the future! View courses HERE.
Wow this is great news! Redemption Seminary and Eternity Bible College are doing this for some of Dr Heiser's free courses too. Hopefully it helps open up doors of opportunity lay people who don't have the means to go "all in" as a full-time student starting from scratch. A few credits towards a goal and things start to feel more possible.
Love the Bible Project - been supporting them for years now
