I am always so thankful when I get a chance to talk to Preston Sprinkle on his podcast Theology in the Raw. Preston and I were doing our PhDs in the UK around the same time (he was maybe a year or 2 ahead of me). Back then, we were just kids, pretending to be scholars, fired up about biblical scholarship and living out our dreams of working with great doctoral supervisors.
We’ve gone on after our PhDs to have different ministries (Preston primarily outside of academics, me primarily in a seminary context), but when we do come together we have so much in common, especially with our heart for the church.
Check out this honest (and “raw”!) conversation about ancient and modern Christianity, with a focus on my new book Strange Religion.
